On Wednesday the jury headed out of school to Luigi Pomata (where they'll dine next week), to meet the chef - Luigi Pomata himself. Here are a few pics!
Luigi talked about his career as a chef (which has taken him all over the world), how important smell is in cooking food, where he's from in Sardinia, and well, the bad stuff that makes up chicken nuggets (ewww).
Then he showed us how to make 'Sardinian spring rolls' - starting by slowly sauting the veggies.
The jury took some notes on the recipe so they can duplicate it at home..
The finished spring rolls, with local veggies, cheese and crepe - beautiful!!
And then the jury got to have a taste - one critic in particular said the rolls made him re-think his dislike of vegetables!
A drawing of the spring rolls!
Luigi ended our time with a round of high fives. Thanks Luigi for a great visit - I'm sure the jury is excited to head back to the restaurant next week.
