The jury headed out on Thursday night to Antica Cagliari for their first dinner. Here's a shot of them ready to go and critique - complete with their notepads.
Here they are, welcomed to Antica Cagliari!
They settled in with bread and menus.
Ng took a hint from chef Luigi Pomata, who we met the other day, by moistening his traditional Sardinian flatbread (Luigi put them in water to use them as crepes). Ng used Coke instead, but he seemed to like it!
The mandatory bathroom check..
And... FOOD!!!
lots of seafood going on here
Our server brought - and opened - a bunch of wet napkins for us to clean our hands post-dinner. Now that's service!
Some notes from the critics:
And now, evaluation time: each night the jury will fill out the same evaluation form and vote on which awards they think the restaurant should get.
The kids were anxious to talk to some other diners, and outside managed to interview this Spanish couple. They were a little hesitant at first, but by the end...
This man wanted his photo taken with the jury. Nice one!
Overall, a pretty solid first dinner - stay tuned for the next 8 still to come.
