Meet the jury (and their veggie garden)

Today we visited North Presentation Primary School and met the jury. It seems this jury stands out from the rest for one obvious reason: they're ALL girls. With two female teachers and two female mammalians (err fe-malians), it is going to be a CRAZY fun time (but please, don't let that stop you men from coming to dine with us--all the more reason!).

We have to show you this: the school's vegetable garden, which they've been cultivating for their own cooking! It's perfect as a pre-Eat the Street introduction, especially in Cork, where lots of local chefs are cooking local and organic.

Today we introduced the kids to "social art" and had a lively debate about things that kids can't do. Driving, voting and getting married were the favourite topics of debate...

Tomorrow we'll meet a real chef who will cook right inside the classroom for us (maybe even with some vegetables from the school garden?) So far the excitement for Eat the Street at North Presentation Primary is palpable; we think this group is going to make a fabulous jury.
